November 2024 news!

What happened in November 2024 at Phyto-info… We'll tell you all about it!

Hello everyone 🌿

Fruit, in general, was difficult to find during the Second World War. So, to ensure that the population, and children in particular, had enough vitamin C, the English Ministry of Health encouraged the harvesting of rosehips, you know, the small red berries of rose bushes that are also called rosehips. In 1941, it is said that the children had harvested 200 tons of these berries which were then transformed into a national rosehip syrup, available in pharmacies as a food supplement. Who would have thought that roses, and more specifically their small red berries, would play such an important role in these difficult times.

Last month, we focused on wild roses, also known as dog roses, this month we finish the rose adventure with cultivated roses: the red and pale ones 👏.

A utopian world 👏

A French educator, around the 1920s, devised a way to combine health and learning by teaching primary school students to identify, pick and use medicinal plants. Why? Discover the reason on our blog.
