October 2023 news!
What happened in October 2023 at Phyto-info… We'll tell you all about it!
Hello everyone 🌿
If you have already had the opportunity to meet around a campfire with family or friends, you have certainly tried grilled marshmallows. Whether you like it or not, he will still be the star of the evening. Marshmallow, or marshmallow, or marshmallow paste, or simply marshmallow, was once made with… marshmallows. And yes, it’s hard to believe it!
Nowadays, Marshmallows no longer have anything to do with marshmallows… no trace of this plant in the recipe, only sugar, egg white, gelatin, gum arabic and flavors. In short, just a candy store with no property.
However, marshmallows are an indispensable plant for, among other things, facing winter. And as we approach sore throat season, it’s now added to our database.
Added plants 👏
- Marshmallow (Althaea officinalis)
- silverweed (Potentilla anserina)
What you should remember about the officinal marshmallow is that it contains an astronomical quantity of mucilage and that it is, therefore, the emollient plant par excellence. Silverweed, on the other hand, contains tannin and will therefore be astringent.
We let you discover the actions of these two plants on our platform.
Limited version 👏
In order to find a compromise between our philosophy of sharing information and the proper functioning of the non-profit organization, we now offer limited free access to our Phyto-info search tool.
➡︎ If you’re just passing through and/or just curious to see how it works, head to the url and let the search tool guide you.
You will be able to do a unlimited number of searches. And for each search, the Phyto-info platform will offer you the most cited plant in the books we have reviewed. If the tool finds more than one plant suitable for the search, only the first will be revealed to you, the other plants being blurred and reserved for our members.
More info on our limited version in this post.
➡︎ If you are a member, all you need to do is log in to your account to have access to all the information on plants that we have synthesized.
Plant and source lists 👏
The lists of plants we have synthesized and the sources we use are now both accessible from the explanatory page of the Phyto-info search tool; No need to log in to access it. You can explore these two lists at your leisure, which update automatically.
If you cannot find the right fit, in other words, if we have not yet worked on the plant you are interested in, know that we leave it to our members to choose which plants to include in our search tool; do not hesitate to let us know your preferences by email.
Improvement of our section One plant, one use! 👏
Our section One plant, one use! lists one use per plant (no kidding!). Yes, but not just any use, one of the most cited for the plant in question. However, each plant is useful in more than one situation, and fortunately. And to make your life easier, if you’re interested in learning more about its traditional uses and other properties, we’ve added a link “Learn more about this plant” which will take you directly to its page.
