Our search tool – terms of use

The instructions for use inform us of the various interactions that may occur, particularly when taking medication or in the case of certain allergies.

Preparing an infusion or a decoction for internal or external use is not trivial; it is better to be aware of it than to be embarrassed, or worse, to worsen your minor health problem.

This is a bit scary!

Don’t panic, you just need to be informed. Terms of use are a bit like the general conditions of sale of a product; their purpose is to inform hot water drinkers of the various interactions that may occur, in particular when taking medication or certain allergies.

Indeed, you don’t want to end up with a face full of hives, especially before a professional meeting, because you simply forgot to check if the plant was contraindicated in case of allergy. Of course colleagues will ask you what is happening to you, and I can see your head when you answer, “I just drank an herbal tea!”

I have identified 7 main sections for the terms of use:

  • Contraindications
  • Toxicity
  • Side effects
  • Drug interactions
  • Precautions for use
  • Children
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women

The image in this text illustrates how to use wild garlic. Unfortunately, books do not always provide information on all the categories of modalities for a given plant. But the good news is that, in general, you always end up finding at least one author who talks about even one of the modalities, which is reassuring nonetheless. In the event that one of the sections is not filled in, as for wild garlic, in fact nothing is said (at this stage of our research) for the Children and Pregnant and Breastfeeding Women category, it would then be best to check with your doctor whether the plant is well adapted to your personal situation before use.

See you very soon for the next phyto-info newsletter!
